Most Mecklenburg County superior and district court sessions are cancelled for Friday, March 2.|
EXCEPTIONS: Weddings, IVC Hearings, Courtrooms 1150, 4110, 4330, 5170, 6170 and Calendar Call for Judges Mann, Henderson and Smith. Those calendar calls will take place in courtroom 6350 at 9 AM.
These cancellations are made to accommodate the need for heightened security during the funeral of Billy Graham and the attendance by the current and former presidents and other dignitaries.
Chief District Court Judge, Honorable Regan A. Miller, signed an administrative order stating all sessions of District Court will be CLOSED on Friday March 2, 2018 with the exception of 1150, 4110 and 4330, IVC Hearings and Calendar Call for Judges Mann, Henderson and Smith. Those calendar calls will take place in courtroom 6350 at 9 AM.
Senior Resident Superior Court Judges, Honorable W. Robert Bell, gave Superior Court judges the option of closing or not based on the request from the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department and the Sheriff’s Department to curtail courthouse services to free up law enforcement.
All Superior Court sessions are cancelled with the exception of Courtroom 6170 and 5170.
Most court sessions are cancelled, but we will be here for people needing to conduct other courthouse business. The courthouse will be OPEN on Friday. The Clerk’s office is OPEN. Courthouse staff are expected to report to work.
